His twins have already “fallen in love with” their new sister.
Ricky Martin got a belated Christmas gift this year, albeit one that was definitely on his list: a baby girl! Martin and husband Jwan Yosef welcomed their new daughter this week, as confirmed in an Instagram post on Monday.
"We are beyond happy to announce that we have become parents to a beautiful and healthy baby girl, Lucia Martin-Yosef," Martin wrote below a photo of his hands entwined with those of his new baby. "It has been a special time for us and we can't wait to see where this stellar baby will take us." He added that his 10-year-old sons, Matteo and Valentino, have "fallen in love with Lucia."
Martin has been vocal about his hopes for a big family, telling E! News that he wants "four more pairs of twins," just days before he and Yosef confirmed their new husband status last January. "I do want a big family, but there's a lot going on at the moment. A lot of work, wedding, so we're going to put things in order first and then we're going to get ready for many more kids."
While Martin and Yosef have been private about the details of Lucia's birth, Martin was open about using a surrogate with his twins.
"I wanted to do things right, so I did it through an agency, and I did it with lawyers," he told Oprah in 2010. "I am part of a modern family."
