Looking for some great Pride events in New York? Three fabulous parties are scheduled between Friday, June 24 to Sunday, June 26.
On Friday June 24, the second Pride edition of Bathhouse, a '70s themed party, will be held at XL Nightclub on 42nd Street. Paying tribute to a phenomenon dating back to Ancient Greece, the party will be a "raucous and steamy" bathhouse and have a locker room, an adult theater featuring live performances, and over 30 men onstage in only towels. Sounds promising!
"In the early '70s, the bathhouse was a symbol of gay freedom, a place to literally shed one's inhibitions and secrets," says event producer, Brandon Voss. "Nearly fifty years later, we're recreating the experience by inviting today's generation to shed their inhibitions--and iPhones--with complimentary towels and a clothing check."
Thanks to the minds behind the off-Broadway production Fuerza Bruta, Saturday will see the premiere of Bruta Pride at the Daryl Roth Theatre located on 101 East 15th Street. Attendees will find an interactive 4D theatrical experience, immersive performances, and beats by DJ Hector.
Finally, on Sunday, get ready for 12, yes, 12 drag queens from RuPaul's Drag Race at Night of 1000 Queens at 9pm at Stage 48, 605 West 48th St. Come see Alyssa Edwards, Courtney Act, Derrick Barry, Detox, Kennedy Davenport, Naomi Smalls, Raja, Roxxxy Andrews, Shangela, Trixie Mattel, and Willam. Lady Bunny will also be in attendance to DJ the event.

UPDATE: On June 14, Voss released the following statement:
"In light of the terrible act of violence that has struck the LGBT community in Orlando, we are working directly with the NYPD and our private security teams to review safety measures during pride month. We have already added additional security personnel, metal detection, and mandated bag checks at all our events as well as several other security measures that will go unnoticed to guests. Voss Events is doing everything possible to ensure guest safety and want to remind the public that NYC Pride has always had what most consider to be the best security protocols in the country. Questions regarding security concerns can be directed to info@vossevents.com."
