Saks Fifth Avenue is once again partnering up with Stonewall Inn for its brand-new "Show Your Pride" campaign during Pride Month.
The LGBTQ+ celebrities featured in Saks' new Pride campaign include Pose star Dominique Jackson, RuPaul's Drag Race superstar Adore Delano, designer Christian Cowan, as well as comedians Jes Tom and Sam Jay. Meanwhile, digital influencer Emira D'Spain will host a special video on the official TikTok account for Saks Fifth Avenue.
Saks' "Show Your Pride" campaign has partnered with the Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative (SIGBI) for a fourth consecutive year, having now donated a cumulative $245,000 to the cause. This donation is meant to "directly benefit the evolution of the Stonewall Inn's Safe Spaces program."
Saks CEO Marc Metrick wrote in a statement:
"At Saks, we understand the importance of allyship and are honored to stand with our LGBTQ+ employees, customers and partners. We're committed to advocating for equal rights for all members of the LGBTQ+ community, which is why we've chosen to continue supporting SIGBI's impactful work."
He continued:
"The LGBTQ+ community plays an integral role in fashion, and we're proud to lend our platform to amplify awareness of the community's contributions across our industry. Even more so, we believe it's important to lend our voice in the ongoing fight for LGBTQ+ rights."
Throughout the entire month of June, the Saks Live events will be hosted by Delano, Jackson, and Jay. Besides those digital events, the Saks Fifth Avenue flagship windows will also be transformed into a deconstructed Pride flag. This is being described as "a stunning ribbon sculpture [that] will flow throughout the center six windows, which will be on view from June 2 to June 16."
The CEO and co-founder of the Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative (SIGBI), Stacy Lentz, also issued a statement:
"It's so important for iconic brands like Saks to take a stand given that the rights of the LGBTQ+ community are at stake. The generous donation from Saks, and their continued alliance, helps further awareness of our mission to protect the rights of the LGBTQ+ community. We couldn't be more proud to work together again and thank them for their partnership."
With a star-studded lineup of LGBTQ+ celebrities and the choice of a great cause to benefit, Saks is certainly going above and beyond to amplify the voices of queer individuals over the course of Pride Month.
