Go Behind the Scenes of Lil Nas X's Cover Shoot for Out Magazine

A photo shoot isn't easy during a pandemic -- but Lil Nas X and Out magazine managed to get things done.

In early June, the gay artist arrived at a private residence in Los Angeles to pose for the photography used in Out's July/August 2021 cover story. And it took a village to create the beautiful images seen in the issue.

The masked team members included Out's creative director Ben Ward; photographer James White; photo assistants Eric Larsen and Ethan Sharkey; digital tech expert Chad Brooks; stylist Hodo Musa; stylist assistants Nash Koshiro, Anissa Silva, and Gorge Villalpando; grooming expert Stacey Kutz; beauty expert Anthony Nguyen; manicurist Jolene Brodeur; and videographer Anthony Morales.
