There a million bottoming tutorials online. I remember reading my first one on BryanBoy's old blog where he taught people how to use a water bottle for douching. We are not going to suggest that — and if you must in a hurry, there's a nozzle just for you — but people need options.
On this very site we've published "17 Tips for Happy, Healthier Bottoming," and in a feature about poop during anal sex, had porn performer Ty Mitchell give the quick and dirty of his douching routine. Now comes DamagedBttm.
DamagedBttm rose to prominence on X (formerly Twitter) for sharing content promoting his X-rated fan site pages and regaling the world with his bottoming adventures. Over time, quite a few followers started submitting questions about the process of bottoming, aspiring to possibly live those sagas themselves. The result was a Twitter thread that — in collaboration with the performer — we've brought here for ease of use.

As with everything, sex and bodies are personal! What works for one person doesn't necessarily work for everyone else. Damaged notes this in his thread.
"Every body is different, and a lot of time what works for one person won't work for another," he wrote. "So if what I do doesn't work for you that's okay. We're all built differently."

"My diet is extremely inconsistent," Bttm wrote of his own regimen. "I avoid dairy (unless I have lactaid), rarely eat anything spicier than green pepper hot sauce and don't really eat red meat. On top of that I take fiber pills."
The performer noted he takes general store brand pills and follows the instructions on the bottle. "It will dramatically reduce your time spent douching," he explains. If you have an aversion to pills, try some fiber-rich foods.
Do not feel as if you should have to not eat unless you want to be clean for hours. In this case, not eating for eight hours before could be beneficial.

Though some just pop a fiber pill, shower, and let things do what they do, there are enemas that can flush the anal cavity. While there are reusable kinds, Damaged gave advice on the one-time use version by the brand Fleet given that if you're asking questions, you're not probably an owner of a reusable one.
"First of all, Fleet makes a bunch of different kinds of enemas," he wrote. "I like to buy the 70 percent extra volume because it goes way faster. If you're new, you should probably stick to the original. Avoid mineral oil ones because the walls of the walls of the douche are too thick for reuse."
To use, empty out the saline water out of the douche -- "saline is a laxative and you DO NOT want that going into you if you're about to bottom." Refill with water from the sink or shower at a temperature "a little cooler than room temperature." Insert the head of the douche inside your butt -- using a little bit of lube helps -- and squeeze.
"Some people like to squeeze as hard as possible to shoot it far as possible," Damaged wrote. "I like to start soft and build up momentum." Again, it's personal preference. Hold the water in for a few seconds, squat, and expel the liquid. Our bottom expert encourages you to "actively push the water out like you're trying to push out a really big poop," to reduce residual water inside of you. Repeat until you can do this process "three consecutive rounds" with nothing coming out, and then sit for about five minutes to let any extra water work its way out.

As with many things, there are some who want to bottom as if they are in a marathon, requiring the need to stay in tip top shape for hours. For that, DamagedBttm suggest either "not eating for the eight hours before your initial douche," or to "clean out beyond your rectum and into your colon."
This is no newbie step and generally requires a shower attachment. "I'm not very familiar on methods of douching this deep," Damaged warns. He also says that Imodium, an anti-diarrhea supplement, could prove clutch here. If you decide to take a pill though, make sure you read the instructions.

Your body -- particularly your butt -- is filled with muscles. One important part of bottoming is about relaxing those muscles. "There's no one size fits all answer, so you have to do some self exploration into what helps you," Damaged admits.
His advice: focus on your breath like you do in yoga. Try breathing deeply in through your nose and out through your mouth. Also maybe think of trying poppers, which are a bit of a short term fix. "If you're new, after about 45 seconds your hole will start to close and you'll be at square one," he warns. So even if you do use them, still work on breathing and otherwise relaxing. Also, as he later notes, poppers are a vasodilator so if you're already taking a vasodilator --like Viagra -- you should not mix the two.

While people might get right to it in the movies, some foreplay could go a long way in real life. DamagedBttm suggests rimming — mandates it actually.
"First of all, rimming should be a requirement," he writes. "It feels about 80 percent as good as bottoming but requires 2 percent of the effort. If your body is actively clenching, rimming is a great way to get it to calm down." Damaged recommends five minutes at least. Also try fingering on for size.
"I refuse to let anyone finger me because I absolutely hate the way a finger feels, but some people find it helpful," he admits. "Be sure there is lube on the finger. Tops are morons and often think they can just slam a dry, bony finger right into your ass."

"Lube is amazing," Damaged says simply. "Lube is important. Lube is necessary. Unless you as a bottom know that you can just use spit/no lube, do not let a top try to enter you with out it." Lube should be used with fingers, toys, and any anal insertion really. He personally prefers silicone-based lube like this one from Mister B but notes it is harder to get off of you and out of sheets. Silicone-based lubes also do not do well with some toys, so you may also want to experiment with water-based.
And just in case you didn't catch it: "SPIT DOES NOT COUNT AS LUBE."

The saying goes: different strokes for different folks, and that's what Damaged believes.
"Everybody has different favorites because every body is slightly different," he says. That means exploring different ones to find your favorite. From his personal experience, doggy style provides prostate access but makes kissing during sex difficult. Similarly, sex with the bottom on their stomach provides similar prostate access and the top can "wrap their arm around your neck and choke you, and easy-ish to make out." Missionary provides more control from the bottom's perspective, and includes eye contact and intimacy. And then there's riding.
"I personally believe that bottoms should not have to put in that much effort since we spend 20-60 minutes prepping before sex, so I don't do it often," Damaged says. "I also have a bad knee so it hurts. It's good for beginners because you have the most control."
