Watch This Dancer Slay a Rugby Game With a 'Single Ladies' Performance
All these years later and Beyonce's iconic track "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" is still making an impact on the world and on popular culture!
During a recent match for the South African rugby team DHL Stormers, out dancer and teacher Wiaan Laing donned his best team apparel and wowed the crowd with the always recognizable choreography to Mrs. Knowles-Carter's 2008 single from her Grammy-winning third studio album I Am...Sasha Fierce.
For a multitude of reasons (including that Laing fills out that DHL Stormers uniform really, really well), his Beyonce homage/performance with the cheerleaders made the rounds on the internet and is now going viral on TikTok, with nearly 540,000+ likes and 6.2 million views at the time of writing.
Though Instinct reports that Laing isn't really a pro rugby player, we totally wouldn't be mad if he joined the team in a permanent capacity to entertain the crowd with his talent!
"I went to an audition in 2019 for various live entertainment companies and when they saw me dancing they booked me for gigs almost immediately," he told the publication about how his involvement with the DHL Stormers and their cheer/dance squad came to be. "One of the companies belongs to the manager of the DHL Dancers, Jennifer Beck, and she asked me to join the team of girls and pose as a rugby player. She said I looked the part of a rugby player and would fool people easily, which eventually happened."
"No phone call from Ellen as of yet, but it has been surreal as that was literally the only 10 seconds that was broadcasted on TV!" he continued. "It's been viewed millions of times across social platforms and that in itself feels great. I love to see that my passion gives others a reason to smile."
When he's not slaying the sidelines to Queen Bey, Laing spends his time in Cape Town with his wonderful boyfriend Abre just living his best life.
