Charles Barkley just went viral.
In a recent video posted to TikTok, the basketball legend is spreading love and calling out hate.
"I want to say this: If you're gay and transgender, I love you! Hey, and if anybody give you sh-, you tell them Charles said 'F-k you!'" the 59-year-old can be heard saying while speaking to a crowd during an event that was taking place at a Lake Tahoe hotel-casino.
Since the video was first posted, it has been making the rounds on social media.
Barkley has been a loud and proud advocate for the LGBTQ+ community for a long time now.
As an ally, he has been an outspoken critic of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation. As The Hill reports, in 2016 he spoke out against a North Carolina law banning transgender people from using the bathroom that aligned with their gender identity and instead mandating them to use bathrooms that correspond with their biological sex. In 2017, he also called for the All-Star Game that was set to take place in Charlotte to be moved because of the legislation. The National Basketball Association (NBA) later relocated the event.
"As a Black person, I'm against any form of discrimination -- against whites, Hispanics, gays, lesbians, however, you want to phrase it," Barkley told CNN back in 2017. "It's my job, with the position of power that I'm in and being able to be on television, I'm supposed to stand up for the people who can't stand up for themselves."
