"I don't want to be where I'm not wanted or where my work isn't appreciated," the RuPaul's Drag Race star and Cabaret actor wrote.
"It's a very daunting thing to understudy him. You're kind of like, 'Oh, people wanted to see Eddie Redmayne, and now it's me,'" the Drag Race star tells Out in an interview. "But he's truly so generous and welcoming."
