You know the old saying about how much money people pay to live in a closet in Manhattan? Well if you were living in Nate Berkus and his husband Jeremiah Brent's closet, you'd be able to fully furnish it and still have room to host parties.
The design couple cover October's issue of Architectural Digest and take readers on a tour of their new Greenwich Village home. Among the stops included are the nursery for their daughter, Poppy, and a his-and-his closet that could make Carrie Bradshaw jealous.
Breathtaking as the closet is, the couple wanted the focus of their new apartment to be all about Poppy and them. "We knew we wanted to have a family and that we wanted to raise our child in New York," Berkus told AD. Brent added:
"The day we closed on the apartment," Brent says, "we were walking through Washington Square, and I told Nate, 'We have to treasure this.' For two kids from Minnesota and California to be living in this apartment on lower Fifth? It's insane. I always wanted to live beautifully, and the idea of Nate and Poppy and me creating a life here together?"
