Following the fall out of the show's two core romances -- the would-be Patrick and Kevin and the stalled Dom and Lynn -- Looking turns to one of the exes for solace (and some distraction).
Much like episode 5 of the first season -- when Patrick ditches work (and the sight of Kevin) to spend the day with Richie -- we find the boys in a similar situation. This time, Patrick uses Richie to escape the reality of his own now-defunct romance with Kevin when he offers to help out his ex with the pick up of an ice cream truck.
The move -- a seemingly desperate attempt to try to rekindle a relationship with Richie -- is assuredly nothing more than an excuse to flee the city. Top trumps be damned!
And so begins the journey into Richie's Spanish-speaking childhood world where Patrick finds new ways to embarrass himself...
Learn the truth of Richie's feelings when they were dating...
Bond with Richie (and make the whole friendship thing work)...
...And suddenly ruining it all with a confessional in the driver's seat of an ice cream truck by divulging the truth about his relationship with Kevin.
Patrick seriously has the worst case of Catholic guilt, like, ever. Why must he word-vomit all over the place all the time?
Back in the City, Agustin 2.0 -- upgraded with the Tin Man's heart -- is rapidly falling for his new bear-friend Eddie.
Also playing hookie (on what is Agustin's first week of paid work?), these two share in a bite-sized version of Richie and Patrick's first day together. Though, there's no rimming or actual sex, just making out and dance parties.
And not at all put off by Eddie's HIV status, Agustin seems content in pursuing the bear. But this relationship still feels all too on the surface. So the question is, what's each of their intentions? And is Eddie the man behind the curtain, because he seems to be the only one to balance Agustin's temper out.
Also, on a sidenote, should we talk about Patrick's taste in porn? For a new "power top," it looks like he may still have some "power bottom" fantasies.
