Dear Conservatives: Gays Have Been Writing Your Speeches for a Long Time—GET OVER IT (Exclusive)

graves-1.jpg

In this week’s episode of Graves, a former two-term Republican president comes to terms with a gay staffer.

EPIX's new political satire, Graves, follows former Republican President Richard Graves (Nick Nolte) as he tries to right the wrongs of his administration 25 years after leaving office.

In Sunday's upcoming episode, Graves attends the wedding of one of his former speechwriters (Roger Bart) who's getting hitched to a (drumroll) man! Graves made his staff write some aggressive anti-marriage equality speeches during his years in the White House, and though he may remain stuck in his conservative ways, he shows a half-step toward progress.

"I believe what I believe," declares Graves over cocktails. "It's in my DNA. It just doesn't sit well with me."

But then his former staffer serves him some gay REALNESS.

"I have sex with men, Mr. President. Penetrative. Anal. Sex."

With those magical three words, Graves comes around (kind of). "You guys have a free pass to two institutions that make most men wet the bed: marriage and the military."

Watch the revelation below:

And of course, they all have a hot-tub kiki to make sure everyone is feeling a-okay (with a special appearance by former House Rep. Barney Frank).

Catch the new episode of Graves on Sunday, November 6 at 10/9c on EPIX.
