Showtime’s Billions Casts Non-Binary Gender Identifying Actor Asia Kate Dillon

Showtime's Billions is pushing boundaries with their latest casting announcement. Asia Kate Dillon will play Taylor, an intern at Axe Capital. Dillon is one of the first gender non-binary identifying actors to be cast on mainstream television. Similarly, the role of Taylor is one of the first gender non-binary roles to be broadcast.

Dillon has appeared in Orange is the New Black, Masters of None, and Younger. They also created, curated, and directed US, an evening of storytelling followed by a talkback, which confronts racism in the United States and contributes to the Black Lives Matter movement.

Showtime has often been at the forefront of queer representation in mainstream television. Shows like Queer as Folk and The L Word put a spotlight on LGBT characters and storylines before it was common on primetime. They continue their commitment with shows like Shameless, Masters of Sex, and Penny Dreadful.
