Over a decade ago, SHOWTIME brought us Queer as Folk. The series had an indelible impact on LGBTQ storytelling. The show explored controversial and nuanced relationships: What happens when an HIV-positive man dates someone who doesn't share the same status? What happens when a young gay kid is disowned by his parents? QAF and SHOWTIME changed the landscape and paved the way for additional queer programming.
