After a bumpy summer off, The Real O'Neals will come back for a second season on ABC with a star-studded lineup of LGBT guests.
The network family sitcom was warmly welcomed in the first season for star Noah Galvin as Kenny, a gay teenager who comes out to his Catholic family led by matriarch Eileen (Martha Plimpton).
However, a summer interview with Galvin--where he got a little too candid about gay actors in Hollywood--landed him and the show in a bit of trouble. In the fallout, ABC even threatened to reduce the number of episodes in season 2.

However, the network looks ready to do the full gay mea culpa. The second season will has lined up LGBT stars like Jane Lynch, Lance Bass, Tyler Oakley, and RuPaul will appear as guest stars--likely appearing in the internal monologues character Kenny has when facing a new family emergency.
The second season will also premiere Oct. 11, which is National Coming Out Day.
Sounds like we can let Noah out of the doghouse now.
