In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ryan Murphy opens up about what it was really like on the set of the popular Fox TV show Glee. Murphy spoke about how the show changed the game for its cast. "It was so crazy, like you could not go out with those kids."
Though the actors were very tight-knit as a result of their rapid rise to stardom, there also a lot of behind-the-scenes tension. "There was a lot of infighting. There was a lot of people sleeping together and breaking up. It was good training for being a parent, I'll tell you that much," said Murphy. He noted that things would get very personal, very quickly.
Murphy also touched on Cory Monteith's drug addiction during the interview, talking about how he tried to help Monteith recover by sending him to rehab. Eventually, Monteith died of a drug overdose, changed Glee, its audience, and the lives of everyone involved in the series.
