Actor Tom Hardy has never been shy about showing off his body on camera, and his new drama, Taboo, was no exception.
In an interview with BBC, Hardy, who is one of the show's creators, talked about really immersing himself in his role as James Delaney, who returns to 19th-century England after several years in the African wilds.
"It's not a period drama until someone gets naked and covers themselves in blood," he said.
While the actor did everything to "eke out drama from any opportunity," the racier shoots didn't "make the cut."
Taboo premieres this weekend on BBC One and on FX Tuesday, Jan. 10.
