The Emmy winner just brought her Chicago drama series to Showtime.
Lena Waithe, who made history as the first black woman to win a TV writing Emmy for Master of None, is now writing and producing The Chi. The series, described as "a powerful coming-of-age drama series about an interconnected group of working-class African-Americans on Chicago's volatile south side," arrived on Showtime January 7.

Waithe's show was filmed and produced entirely in Chicago, and follows a group of strangers whose lives become intertwined by coincidence.
