Who's ready for the big Ru-turn?

Season nine of RuPaul's Drag Race finally has a premiere date and a few surprising announcements. The show will be returning March 24, but not to Logo, which has previously aired the series for 8 years. Now the show will air Friday nights at 8 pm EST on VH1, instead.

"Coming off RuPaul's Emmy win and a ratings record-breaking season of All Stars, the fandom around RuPaul's Drag Race has only continued to swell as we head into season nine," said Pamela Post, SVP of Original Programming & Development at Logo. "Airing the show on VH1 in HD will allow more fans to experience the energy, heart and talent these fierce Queens bring to the stage every week."

The full trailer, which was released today, features Lady Gaga and suggests that season nine will include "a shocking opening that will go down as one of the most jaw-dropping moments in "Drag Race" herstory." In honor of the big ru-turn, every episode of Drag Race will be airing non-stop on Logo in a special event they're calling a "Race to the Nines." The five-day event will begin Sunday, March 19 at 8 pm EST leading up to the official March 24 premiere.
