Carrie Brownstein, the co-creator of IFC's Portlandia and a member of the punk girl group Sleater-Kinney, among other endeavors, is creating a new pilot for Hulu titled Search and Destroy.
The show, written and directed by Brownstein, is loosely based on her bestselling memoir Hunger Makes Me A Modern Girl, and is about a young musician growing up in the Pacific Northwest in the 90s, heavily involved in the punk rock, feminist movement of the time, Deadlinereports.

Brownstein has received a Peabody Award and been nominated for four Emmys for Portlandia, on which she is writer, star, and sometimes director. She and co-star Fred Armisen will enter the series' final season this year on IFC.
Brownstein has also directed episodes of Casual at Hulu, and will soon make her feature directorial debut with Fairy Godmother, a comedic spinoff of the classic Cinderella character.
