Watch Adam Rippon Shadily Teach Samantha Bee to Skate

Samantha Bee's upcoming holiday special Christmas on I.C.E. may be more about politics than triple sow cows, but it will actually take place on ice -- meaning Bee needs some help preparing. Thankfully, she has enlisted Olympic figure skater and gay icon Adam Rippon to teach her a few moves.

"How did you think you were going to do a skating special if you don't know how to skate?" Rippon asks the apprehensive TV host, who is wearing what looks like golf shoes rather than ice skates. While Bee doesn't quite manage to to skate her way into Rippon's arms, technical knowledge isn't the most important of skating, he says. "You can just act like a figure skater," he tells her. "You just, like, pose and look up romantically." That, it turns out, Bee can definitely do.

Christmas on I.C.E. is described as "a less-godless-than-the-usual-liberal Christmas variety spectacular," featuring special guests yet to be named, although Rippon will be there. "Personally, I don't buy that Jesus was a Capricorn," Bee said about the special, which will be taped at New York's PlayStation Theater. "But I still love Christmas and hope that my ice dancing brings the much-needed joy that this world needs -- it'll make this sprained ankle totally worth it."

Christmas on I.C.E. airs December 19 at 10pm on TBS.
