We’re thirsty and Angel B. Curiel is quenching it.
If Pose is known for anything, it's for the high drama and lewks from its leading ladies and ballroom standouts. And sure, during the first season, Ryan Jamaal Swain and Dyllon Burnside's burning love as Damon and Ricky kept our Black queer hearts a-flutter. But in season two, another man is pulling all the attention.
Angel Bismark Curiel as Lil Papi Evangelista is a fine piece of man meat and I'm beyond glad I'm not a vegetarian.
If you are anything like me, you saw Lil Papi during season one and kept it pushing. Sure, he was cute and some much needed comedic relief when things got heavy. And then, in that episode seven showdown when Blanca (Mj Rodriguez) kicks him out of the house for slinging drugs on the pier, we got a hint of his emotional capacity -- and Curiel's acting chops! But I wasn't checking for Lil Papi. He was like a healthy dose of window-dressing, his scraggly, street thug persona being necessarily forgettable, to say the least.
During the show's hiatus however, Papi has been in the gym working on his fitness and earning the right for me to call him "zaddy." Like, did you see him beat the shit out of that manipulative and pervy photographer who violated Angel in season two's premiere? I grabbed my pearls and my prayer cloth! Then there's the slight definition in his arms and the full pecs we get a chance to marvel at as they full out taught tanks. Shout out to the show's costume designer, because they deserve! And in episode two of this season, his cheekbones were popping, the light hit the bridge of his nose just right, and the chin -- my gawd, his chin! Joints, moist.
Papi currently has a thing for Angel (Indya Moore), so it appears, and she's reciprocating. Lucky bitch. Who knows where that will go, but I want more. Also, a sex scene. Please and thanks.
Obviously, there is no Lil Papi without Curiel himself, and if you haven't been following him on Instagram, go ahead and give him that thirst-follow. Granted, he's not shirtless all that often, but when he is... Let's just say we want more pool content!
