Fleabag’s Hot Priest Andrew Scott Wins Critic’s Choice Award
Scott nabbed a trophy for Best Supporting Actor.
Fleabag's award season domination isn't stopping anytime soon ---well, at least not until award season ends. At Sunday's Critic's Choice Awards, the show's Hot Priest, aka Andrew Scott, was finally recognized, taking home a trophy for Best Supporting Actor. Scott was also seated next to Anne Hathaway at the ceremony, which may be more of a prize than the actual award -- have you seen her look? Girl.
While accepting the award, Scott thanked Fleabag creator and star Phoebe Waller-Bridge and the rest of the cast for "fostering an atmosphere that was so creative, generous and wonderful." Waller-Bridge was also a winner at the ceremony, scooping up the award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series.
At last week's Golden Globes, Waller-Bridge singled out Scott in her acceptance speech, crediting him for the show's success. "This really comes down to Andrew Scott, really. That man," she said.
"There was a lot of talk about the chemistry of us in the show, but he could have chemistry with a pebble. I love being Andrew's pebble in this...thank you so much for bringing so much fire to this season."
Scott has skyrocketed to fame after his performance as Fleabag's hot priest, capturing the attention of the internet and quickly becoming tabloid fodder. Just last week, the Daily Mailran a story in which they clutched their figurative pearls over Scott's shirtless Grindr profile. Obviously he's going to show off the goods to snag some trade, he's the Hot Priest. Let him live!
