Celebrities, they are just like us!

In an interview last week on Andy Cohen's Watch What Happen's Live @ Home, Sam Smith opened up a bit about their dating life during the ongoing pandemic. The star is currently readying for the release of their next album, due out at the end of the month. But while preparing for that, apparently they've been doing little bit of dating.

"Hi Sam," Neil, a listener who called into WWHL via Zoom said in an episode last week. "Can you confirm or deny if you're still single? And how have you been dating in quarantine?"

"Um, I'm still single" Smith responded. "I'm on the front line with all the single people ... still. It's been difficult! I've gone on all the apps and stuff, that's all I've got."

Cohen cut into the conversation, pointing out that he had earlier counseled Smith to join Tinder.

"Did you do that?" he asked.

"Andy, I took your advice," Smith said. "I joined this dating site called HInge in the UK. I don't know if you have it. They chucked me off of it after one night because they thought I was a catfish pretending to be me."

We absolutely have Hinge here in the U.S. In fact, Pete and Chasten Buttigieg reportedly met there.

"The same thing has happened to me on dating apps," Cohen admitted. "That's why I wanted you to join Tinder because I have somebody that can get you on there and verify you." Cohen, in addition to being a host, executive producer, and dad, is also the Tinder whisperer apparently.

"By the way hold on, let me just back up," Cohen said before moving on to the next question. "Because that audience member who just asked Sam the question was very cute. I actually feel like that's a very cu -- I mean ..."

Maybe they won't need verification after all.
