A lot of people are at home streaming various television shows -- a whole lot of people. With the White House announcing that social distancing recommendations have been extended nationwide through April 30, and more states issuing shelter-in-place orders, we expect for a lot more of that happen. So, to give us something all to watch, HBO is launching Stay Home Box Office.
Yes, kids: STAY HOME!
Launching at midnight, the company has made a collection of projects available to stream for free on HBO NOW and HBO GO -- all in the months leading up to the launch of HBO Max. The upload contains nine series, as well as ten documentaries, and 20 other movies. It's a pretty good mix with Veep, Succession, The Case Against Adnan Syed, and Happy Feet Two all making the cut. In terms of projects with queer characters specifically: The Wire is pretty queer, notably with the series "villain" Omar Little. There's also Lafayette Reynolds in the iconic vampire drama True Blood. Oh, and we can't forget about Dave, a lead in the dark Six Feet Under.
Below is a listing of the 39 projects in full. It totals up to almost 500 hours of content so get streaming.
