MTV is behind the new "self-filmed" project
In case you have time and attention for a new show, Facebook and YouTube have got you covered. Adding to the plethora of shows that feature drag queens currently in the ether now comes Served! With Jade Thirwall, a cooking competition featuring the Little Mix singer. In the show, Thirwall will grill drag performers with questions as they battle it out in the kitchen.
The project, which will air on MTV UK's Facebook Watch and MTV International's YouTube channel, has already announced a few RuPaul's Drag Race alum as competitors. Courtney Act, Alyssa Edwards, and The Vivienne -- who won the debut season of Drag Race U.K. -- have all been confirmed. On each 11-minute episode, they will prepare a themed dinner from a package of mystery ingredients. Sample themes include "Girlband Glamorama" and "Eighties Eleganza."
"I'm so excited to have some of my favorite people on board to serve you some virtual dinner party realness", Thirwall said in a statement. But the queens aren't the only people she's talking about; Tan France from Netflix's Queer Eye, Mel C from Spice Girls, and actress Alyssa Milano will all make appearances.
"I cannot wait to show you what (and who) we've got in store," Thirwall said. "It's been such a laugh to film and I hope this brings people at home some light-hearted entertainment whilst indoors."
The series will begin to stream on May 28. The project is a part of ViacomCBS' plans to celebrate Global Pride and is a "self-filmed" project.
