If you were afraid that the halt of television production, you would go too long without a new Ryan Murphy show, think again. The prolific mega-producer has readied his latest series. Welcome to Ratched.
We know, we know, it looks a little bit like American Horror Story but its not. Ratched is a new eight-episode series that functions as a prequel of sorts to the film One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest. It's central character is the villain, Nurse Mildred Ratched. But in Murphy's tale we "meet the woman before the monster."
Ratched is played by Sarah Paulson in what we already can tell will be a deliciously "suspenseful drama." It's set in a Northern California psychiatric hospital in 1947 and includes some Murphy staples like Cynthia Nixon and Charlie Carver.
The new series will debut September 18 on Netflix.
