Brush up on your Dutch because Drag Race Universe is touching down in The Netherlands.
With Canada's Drag Race just having wrapped and RuPaul's Drag Race: Vegas Revue still underway, fandom still hungry for competition have the debut season of Drag Race Holland heading their way. Premiering on September 18 (the show will air on WOW Presents Plus in most countries but will also air on Videoland in The Netherlands,) the series is bringing 10 new queens into our lives.
As other iterations have -- that's Canada, Thailand, and The Switch in South America -- this series has dropped the RuPaul in RuPaul's Drag Race. Instead, Fred van Leer, a local celebrity and former Holland's Next Top Model mentor will perform as head judge. It's a bit of kismet given that Drag Race began partially inspired by Top Model.
The queens are quite the eclectic mix,Entertainment Weekly reveals in its exclusive debut of the cast. There are YouTube queens like Roem, those who use the art to explore ideas of gender like ChelseaBoy, as well as a bearded queen in Madame Madness. If you're wondering about Instagram followers, many are clocking in at less than 10,000 but Envy Peru tops out at over 75,000 -- she counts Brooke Lynn Hytes as well as Ru's own wig stylist Curtis William among them. She's followed by Roem at over 13,000.
From first impressions, Madame Madness and Chelseaboy certainly do stand out. But honestly, who knows what talent we will find on the way to Holland's Next Drag Superstar.
The competing queens are: Megan Schoonbrood, Patty Pam-Pam, Sederginne, Envy Peru, Madame Madness, Ma'MaQueen, Janey Jacke, ChelseaBoy, Roem, Miss Abby OMG.
