Dan Levy AND brunch?!? Say less!!

Dan Levy and brunch are two of our favorite things, so what do you get when you combine the two together? HBO's Max's newest reality cooking competition, that's what!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Emmy-winning Schitt's Creek alum is set to host The Big Brunch in 2022, an upcoming, unscripted reality cooking competition series that Levy himself created for HBO Max that will give chefs from all over the country "the chance to share their stories and business dreams."

"What we love about this special show is that it serves more than mouth-watering culinary delicacies; it's about heart, a love of cooking and spotlighting talent whose unique skills elevate the beloved brunch menu," HBO Max's head of originals Sarah Aubrey told THR. "There's no better foodie or creative partner than Dan and the team at Boardwalk Pictures to celebrate those undiscovered voices, and, well, Brunch, the best meal to indulge in decadent sweet and savory dishes that are fueled by cocktails and caffeine!"

"Everybody has a friend, a family member, or a co-worker that is extraordinary at what they do, they just need a leg up so that their talents can be appreciated on a larger scale," Levy said in a statement when the announcement of The Big Bruch was released Monday. "Thanks to an almost obsessive love of food, I've been lucky enough to come across many of those people in the culinary world -- friends working out of cafes or food trucks, revolutionizing the menus at local diners -- those special humans who create communities around their cooking, hoping to take their skills to the next level. I created this show for them, the local culinary heroes of America who deserve a spotlight. That, and who doesn't want to watch maple syrup being poured slowly over a golden stack of perfectly cooked, creme brulee inspired French toast?"

The news of his brunch-themed TV extravaganza comes on the heels of Levy signing an exclusive overall deal with Netflix earlier this year to produce original content for the streaming giant, starting in July 2022 with an original untitled romantic comedy that will be written, directed by, and starring Levy.

"Netflix offered Schitt's Creek a second home at just the right time and opened the doors to a whole new audience for us," Levy said in a statement at the time he inked his deal with Netflix. "Watching the show thrive there has only enhanced my excitement about continuing to tell specific, meaningful stories with them in both TV and feature film. A full-circle moment."

It looks like 2022 is going to be Dan Levy's year, and we can't wait to see what kind of TV and film magic he produces out of it!
