This Chucky Character Just Had His First Gay Kiss
The sweet moment has queer horror fans excited for representation!
Chucky is changing the horror game once again.
In the latest, fifth episode of the Chucky TV series, Jake, the 14-year-old gay protagonist got his first kiss, and it couldn't have happened in a better way.
Jake and his friend Devon have been getting closer all season, dancing around their feelings. In the episode, titled "Little, Little Lies," they're sharing a nice, quiet moment together after they think they've saved the town from Chucky.
"What are you thinking Devon?" Jake asks.
"I'm thinking, this is a problem we can solve together," Devon replies.
Then the boys lean in and give each other a small kiss, before separating and smiling, then going in for a much bigger kiss. The two actors are perfectly adorable, bringing to life a young first gay kiss.

The show is steadily building a strong fanbase, and seems to be getting better each week. This episode's kiss was a really great moment for the lead character, who started out the show as a loner who was always bullied about his sexuality, into a boy with friends who is bold and confident enough to have his first kiss with another boy.
Still, this is Chucky, and we know that things won't be easy for Jake and Devon from here on out. While they think they've beaten the killer doll, we're only five episodes in, so you can be sure they've got a rocky road ahead of them. Thankfully, they've got each other.

The Chucky TV series, which airs on Syfy and the USA network, is created by Don Mancini, the gay man who originally started the Child's Play movie franchise. He wanted to make the star of this new Chucky series gay in order to bring some much needed representation to the horror genre.
"I know as a 14-year-old, when I went to see movies like The Omen or Carrie or The Fury...Christine is another one...where a bullied kid gets supernatural revenge, you know, none of those movies has a single gay character in them. So I think it's good to give kids who are horror fans someone to identify with," he said.
