Here's 'Drag Race' Season 13's Top 4 — and Who Should Win

And then there were four.
In what is surely becoming the longest season of RuPaul's Drag Race, we are really in the final throes of things. And by final, I mean the last month. Season 13 has finally narrowed down its pool of 13 competitors to a tight four. All that is left is a top four semifinal, a reunion, and then a finale that is sure to blow our socks off.
It's been quite an eventful three months. The show kicked off on New Year's Day and immediately put the queens in head-to-head matchups. Losers were sent to the Pork Chop Lounge while winner's went to the Winner's Circle. It was slightly prescient as in the top four, there are three members of the Winner's Circle (Symone, Gottmik, and Kandy Muse) and only one queen from the Pork Chop Lounge (Rose.) But, we would be remiss if we did not mention that Rose was sent to the Pork Chop Lounge by Olivia Lux, who just narrowly missed placing in the Top Four.
This week on the show we will watch the queens sing and dance in remix performances. But, before we do that let's look back over the season and figure out who we think should win -- let's be honest, it's a tight race.
4. Kandy Muse
Let's be clear up front: all of these queens still very much could pull out a win. And we do believe they would all deserve it. We can't remember the last time where we could see a world in which all four queens could justifiably reign supreme over a season, but here we are. That said, decisions must be made.
In that spirit: everything may not be about numbers but some things are and we are using that as a cop out here. Kandy Muse has certainly been a major player in Drag Race the reality show -- she truly deserves a producer credit -- and while she's certainly made an impression on Drag Race the game, she's been outplayed but all of the other queens in the top four. She enters these last few episodes with one maxi challenge win, and three appearances in the bottom two. What's more, from our reading of her second go in the bottom two, she lost the lip sync and was saved by Ru because there was something undeniable about her. And while we certainly agree, it still lands her in fourth place for us.
3. Symone
This was undoubtedly the most difficult decision to make: the difference between second and third place. Symone, like every other competitor in the top four, has that undeniable star quality that you notice the moment you set eyes on her. She has a unique, elevated take on fashion that we truly have yet to see on the show and she's a performer -- a consummate professional. All of these qualities have led her to rack up a gobsmacking four maxi challenge wins, bagging $20,000 in the process.
But she also has what RuPaul loves to call an "inner saboteur." Expecting a level of greatness from herself, she can get in her head at times and when she misses ... she really does miss. That has put her in the bottom two twice this season. And while she certainly decisively won both of those lip syncs, in an unusually tight race, that's what's landed her in our number three slot. But we still maintain this is a Symone stan account.
2. Rose
Not going to lie here, we weren't the biggest fans of Rose coming into the season. She seemed like too many perfectionist musical theater queens we have seen before. There was no denying her talent, but it all felt quite done. And boring if we're being honest. But over the last few seasons, the performer seems to have been letting loose a bit ad has been finding herself rewarded for just that.
Rose seems to be blossoming at the perfect moment. This season she has three challenge wins, all within the last couple of episodes, and generally has placed high when she didn't win. the trajectory could give her the extra edge she needs to pull out the big win in the last sprint of this race.
1.) Gottmik
We have been ardent fans of Gottmik for a bit now. That's not really a secret, we put her on our cover alongside her best friend Gigi Gorgeous last summer. Little did we know, shortly after our shoot she was headed to RuPaul's Drag Race quarantine. Most of that fandom has come from Mik's expert makeup skills, but the contestant has continued to peel off layer after layer, showing themself to be an all-around talent on the show. Gottmik has given you fashion, makeup, storylines, comedy, and even a little bit of performance! She's won two maxi challenges -- for the staple events with the Ball challenge and Snatch Game -- and has never hit the bottom two.
She made history as the first trans masculine contestant on the show, and now Ru needs to make history again: Crown her, gorge!
