Here’s What ‘Schitt’s Creek’ Stars Have Said About a Possible Reunion
We'd love to see more of the Rose family!
Ever since Schitt's Creek aired its tear-jerking and spirit-lifting finale, we've all been dying for just a little more. In this age of streaming, cast reunions, reboots, and revamps are all the rage, so it wouldn't be a huge shock if we see the Rose family and friends reappear again sometime soon.
On the other hand, perhaps it's best to close the lid on a story once it's been well told. Maybe it would be better if Schitt's Creek stays as its perfect self. After all, we know how bad a reboot can be.
Still, we can't help but miss David, Johnny, Moira, and Alexis, and all the rest. But enough speculation. What have the stars behind the show said? Wonder no more, as we've got all the latest info on whether or not we can expect a Schitt's Creek continuation any time soon, straight from the cast and creator's mouths.
Dan Levy
Dan Levy, the show's star and creator, who played the fashionable and fussy David Rose, has had the most to say about whether or not the show will have any kind of reunion. Most recently, he said that while he hopes eventually something will happen, they don't have any plans right now. "We had such a great time making the show and I think if the idea is right, I would love to explore what a movie could look like. But I don't have that idea yet. I'm still searching for it," he told Town & Country last summer. "My fingers are crossed, but I also think you need to give people a little time to miss you. So, I'm taking some time and we'll see what happens in the next couple of years, but my fingers are tightly crossed."
Eugene Levy
Eugene Levy, who co-created the show with his son Dan and starred as Johnny Rose, the patriarch of the family, hasn't been as optimistic. "There's always been talk that there will be a get-together at some point with the cast, whether it's a movie or a sort of special or something. That is always gonna be kept alive," he told THR recently. "But there's nothing definitive in the foreseeable future, in the near future, let's put it that way."
Annie Murphy
Murphy, who played Alexis Rose, and is currently starring in Kevin Can F*ck Himself, desperately wants to have a reunion. In May of last year, she told Us Weekly that she's been practically begging for more Schitt's Creek. "I mean, I've been sending Dan $5 a day in the mail as a bribe," she joked. "So far, I have not heard back about a movie officially. But oh my god, I would be just over the moon if that ever came to pass because I miss everyone so much every day. Just to see Moira again, I would pay a lot of money to do that."
Emily Hampshire
The Rosebud Motel's co-owner Stevie Budd thinks that it's basically a guarantee that they'll reunite at some point. "I think we all chip in on that bribe. I can't say anything official, but I would be very surprised if we never got together to do something again," she told Us Weekly in a recent interview. "We'll never do the show again, but I would be surprised if we didn't all get together for some kind of special."
