Season 3 of Netflix's 'The Umbrella Academy' is almost here!
During this year's annual SXSW Music & Film Festival, showrunner Steve Blackman announced that the highly-anticipated third season of the streamer's superpowered, LGBTQ-inclusive series is headed back to our screens this summer! And picking up right where season two left off, there's a lot in store for fans and viewers!
We'll be seeing a lot of familiar faces...
The entire OG crew we know and love -- including Oscar nominee Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castaneda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, and Aidan Gallagher -- are all back in the present day after time-traveling back to the '60s and having to deal with all sorts of fiascos relating to the near end of the world. Of course, things are never easy for this motley crew of misfit heroes, and when they return to modern times, they find themselves greeted by a new squad.
...and some new ones!
And that new squad is none other than The Sparrows!
When The Umbrella Academy returns to a slightly altered version of their present-day, they meet The Sparrow Academy, a different blended family of superheroes also formed by their late father Reginald Hargreeves. And their brother Ben (Justin H. Min), who was thought to be deceased, is now a part of this mysterious new group.
Who are they? What do they know? Will they all get along? We have so many questions, but I guess we'll just have to wait until later this summer to find out all the answers!
