Elliot Page Introduces World to Trans The Umbrella Academy Character

Elliot Page's character in The Umbrella Academy is coming out as trans in the show's upcoming third season later this year.

The Oscar-nominated actor and Out100 honoree took to Instagram today to share the news (and a cute pic!) with followers and fans of the popular Netflix superhero series, introducing us all to Viktor Hargreeves!

"Welcome to the family, Viktor," the streamer wrote on Twitter in a quote tweet, also sharing the good news. "We're so happy you're here."

The Umbrella Academy was already queer-inclusive, with the character of Klaus (Robert Sheehan) getting a romantic storyline with a fellow male soldier made in season one and Viktor getting their own love story with a character named Sissy (played by Marin Ireland) in season two, but Viktor's inclusion and coming out in the upcoming third season of the show, which is set for release later this year in June, is just another step towards even more great trans representation on the small screen.

The Umbrella Academy Season 3 premieres June 22 on Netflix!
