Netflix's live-action adaptation of Heartstopper is almost here -- and we finally have the first official full-length trailer to hype us up and remind us that we could all use a little more cute, gay romance in our lives!
Based on the best-selling, critically-acclaimed graphic novel series of the same name by Alice Oseman, Heartstopper tells the story of two high school-aged English boys named Charlie (Joe Locke) and Nick (Kit Connor) and their group of friends who, although they are probably as polar opposite as you can get (Charlie is a sensitive, shy, social outcast and Nick is a popular, jockish rubgy player), fall in love while learning more and more about themselves.
"Boy meets boy. Boys become friends. Boys fall in love," the official description of the show, which is going to have an 8-episode first season when it drops on Netflix later this month, reads. "When gentle Charlie and rugby-loving Nick meet at secondary school, they quickly discover that their unlikely friendship is blossoming into an unexpected romance. Charlie, Nick, and their circle of friends must navigate the ever-relatable journey of self-discovery and acceptance, supporting each other as they learn to find their most authentic selves."
Heartstopper premieres April 22 on Netflix.
