Ronen Rubinstein Improvised That Cute Tarlos Line on 9-1-1: Lone Star

tarlos

It was a much lighter Tarlos episode than we're used to!

Last night's 9-1-1: Lone Star pretty much gave us the Tarlos sitcom we've been wanting!

With flirting, hijinks, and lizards on the loose, TK (Ronen Rubinstein) and Carlos (Rafael L. Silva) were dealing with problems slightly less serious than they're used to.

Instead of their house being burnt down while they're making love, or the two of them being drugged, or TK getting shot, or TK falling through ice, or TK almost dying for another reason, the two were dealing with TK bringing home a new pet that Carlos wasn't quite on board with.

Earlier in the episode, TK and the ambulance crew had helped a man who stabbed his leg while trying to get an alligator lizard. The lizard then proceeded to crawl inside the wound and burrow into this man's leg. And still, TK decided to keep it as a pet!

If you're thinking that's going too far, you're on the same page as Carlos, who wanted nothing to do with TK's new pet. After a few scenes of TK buying mealworms and Carlos avoiding the lizard, we got to the climax of the storyline.

The hilarity was capped off in a scene straight from The Good Place or Schitt's Creek. Carlos had been at home with the new alligator lizard while TK was off buying groceries. But when TK returned, he noticed the lizard's tank was empty.

When he sees that the lizard is on the couch next to Carlos (who absolutely hates lizards) TK slips into his suave and seductive mode.

"Hey babe, why don't we do that now?" he asks as he sidles up to Carlos, who had just suggested watching a show together. Then, he gets even closer, whispering "you look so good today" as he goes in for the kiss.

Unfortunately, it's all a ruse to try to get the lizard, which had escaped, off the couch right next to Carlos. But when TK missed grabbing it, the lizard moved onto Carlos' shoulder! TK, come on, you can give Carlos compliments without trying to trick him! Still, it was a cute scene.

And the best part? According to Ronen Rubinstein, who plays TK, he improvised the "you look so good today" line!

These cute and hilarious moments were a nice reprieve from the usual Tarlos drama that we see on the show. After all they've been through this season alone, it's nice to see the two of them get some time to just be goofy and cute together.

9-1-1: Lone Star airs on Monday nights at 9/8c on Fox.
