Carlos Drops a Wedding Bombshell on TK in 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 4 Premiere

The new fourth season of 9-1-1: Lone Star is finally here, and so is TK and Carlos' engagement!

While we're all excited to see our favorite first responders tie the knot, it also means that TK (Ronen Rubinstein) and Carlos (Rafael Silva) are sure to be in for one wild ride. 9-1-1 isn't exactly known for making things easy on its characters.

Now, in the first episode of season 4, we got to see what one of the challenges they face is.

In the episode, Carlos was having lunch with his mother when he got a phone call letting him know that his dream wedding venue had opened up - with a spot in just eight weeks.

While his mother is supportive and says they can do it, Carlos is less sure, and confesses to his mom that he hasn't told TK a big secret yet, because he thought he had more time before their wedding.

What is the secret? Carlos is already married -- and to a woman!

Carlos explains to TK that in the past, he had married his close friend Iris Blake, the sister of season 1 character Michelle Blake.

The two had gotten married because Iris has schizophrenia and by adding her to his insurance, he could make sure she got the help she needed. But now, with just eight weeks before his new wedding, Carlos has to figure out what to do.

Co-creator Tim Minnear explained that they've been wanting to do this twist since the beginning of the series.

"There was something always in the back of my head that they had a failed romance of some kind when he was still questioning, when they were much younger," Minear told Entertainment Weekly. "And we felt like that Iris story never quite got its full resolution, so maybe there's more to be played there. And Lyndsy Fonseca is so lovely and so wonderful and so funny and such a great dramatic actress, so it just felt like there was a reservoir of talent there that we could tap. And boy, were we right, she is fabulous."

How will Carlos and TK deal with this secret marriage? Will their rushed wedding still happen?

Season 4 of 9-1-1: Lone Star began this week, and airs new episodes every Tuesday on Fox.
