The Music Hall of Detroit has commissioned a ballet tribute to celebrate legendary musician David Bowie.
Artistic directors Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson have organized a production that will celebrate and interpret decades of works by the pop-rock icon, and will be performed by critically-acclaimed New York-based company Complexions Contemporary Ballet. The ballet will also feature music by Metallica, which will be juxtaposed with Bowie's work to form a "rock opera-style production," according to Billboard.
The production is scheduled to debut June 18, joining many other tributes to the artist since his death this January at age 69.
