Laganja

SYTYCD just got a lot more sickening, okurrrrrrrr!

Laganja Estranja doesn't think she can dance. The drag legend knows it. And last night, on the season 15 premier of Fox's So You Think You Can Dance?, the death-dropping diva from season 6 ofRuPaul's Drag Race proved it the rest of the world.

Ms. Estranja (as she goes by on SYTYCD to be a tad bit more family-friendly) absolutely slayed on stage the moment she (literally) hit the dance floor.

Dancing to RuPaul's Covergirl, Ms. Estranja tore up the stage from beginning to end. Alas, not every judge was gagging over her performance. Lead judge Nigel Lythgoe dissented. Luckily, the other three judges, Vanessa Hudgens, Twitch Boss, and Mary Murphy all told Laganja shante you stay, sending the queen off to the Academy round.

Regarding her experience on the show, Laganja told OUT,

"I was so nervous for my first addition. I stood in line for hours in full drag surrounded by 18-year-olds who's leg extensions gave me a run for my money. But from the moment my heels hit the pavement, I always believed in myself. I knew if I could just get in front of the judges, they would see my talent, too. When I finally stepped out onto that stage for the very first time the following day, of course I was very nervous! But there was also a huge sense of calmness that came over my body, I knew I was meant to be there and that everything had led up to this moment. And you know how I feel about my moment! I was truly shocked when Nigel knew the proper terminology for my dance moves. He has gained quite the reputation for being quite harsh on effeminate men. But even when he voted "no" for my advancement to the Academy, I knew deep down in his heart I had already won him over. Getting the ticket to move on was truly a dream come true, and I can't wait for you to see how my journey unfolds."
