To the Monsoon and back!
The unstoppable Jinkx Monsoon has announced her debut performance at the prestigious Carnegie Hall for a one-night-only concert on Feb. 14, 2025, a.k.a. Valentine’s Day of next year.
This show-stopping event, directed by and starring Monsoon, is part of Carnegie Hall’s lineup for its 2024/2025 season.
“I truly don’t know what to say,” Monsoon wrote in a statement. “My whole life, I’ve listened to my idols’ voices as they sung on the stage of Carnegie Hall… and now I get to join them in the pantheon? All I know is, I’m thrilled and humbled and READY!”
Monsoon shared via Instagram:
“You and me, Valentine’s Day 2025, at Carnegie Hall. I’m absolutely ecstatic to announce that the Carnegie Hall 2024/25 season has just been unveiled, and I’ll be making my Carnegie Hall debut with a special one-night only concert show! (…) Subscriptions are available for purchase starting today, and individual ticket sales kick off on August 12, 2024. Remember to mark your calendar for February 14th next year. I wouldn’t want you to think I’ve stood you up.”
According to a press release, the official title for Monsoon’s concert at Carnegie Hall is yet to be announced, but she will be “joined by a first-rate band (and special guests)” to perform original songs and covers ranging “from cabaret, blues, show tunes, and torch songs to high-energy rock and pop.”
Fans are now resurfacing an adorable video of Monsoon manifesting that she’d one day perform at Carnegie Hall with a “gigantic band” and sing the very best of her repertoire — meaning that this is yet another magical, but also incredibly well-deserved, milestone in Monsoon’s career.
Monsoon’s career reached new heights in 2022 with her second Drag Race crowning in the all-winners edition of All Stars 7… but that was only the beginning, babes!
Throughout 2023, Monsoon was cast as Matron “Mama” Morton in the Broadway production of Chicago, breaking records for the long-running show; went on her first-ever headlining summer tour Jinkx Monsoon: Everything At Stake; and toured with frequent collaborator and fellow Drag Race alum BenDeLaCreme in The Jinkx & DeLa Holiday Show. As of 2024, Monsoon is showing no signs of slowing down with this exciting Carnegie Hall debut and upcoming appearance as a villain in the new season of Doctor Who.
