American fashion designer and film director.Tom Ford is a gay American fashion designer, and is credited most for launching his own self-titled luxury fashion brand, as well as for being the creative director for brands like Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent. Tom Ford also directed the Oscar-nominated, 2009 film A Single Man, which starred Colin Firth as a gay college professor living in Los Angeles. Ford is heralded as one of fashion's most important minds and is married to Richard Buckley, a well-known LGBT writer and journalist.

“It’s turned into a costume party.”
The fashion icon (who was briefly portrayed in the new, Gaga-led drama) was working as Gucci's creative director when the events of the film took place.
The renowned style writer was with the fashion icon for over 35 years.
"I'm not sure that I could make it—which kind of makes me want to."
“I think it would help them understand women,” he explains.
Director-writer Tom Ford comes out at night.
"I always wanted kids, but I really had a bad drinking problem. I couldn’t have had Jack in that state — I’d have dropped him down the stairs and accidentally burned him with a cigarette."
Film is clearly Tom Ford's calling now.
