Approximately 300 people celebrated in the streets during the recent Delhi Queer Pride that took place in Connaught Place on Nov. 24, 2013. "A great deal of people are not able to express their sexual identity openly and have to hide it," photographer Sergiy Barchuk, who captured these images, explains. "There were signs that read 'PROUD PARENT' and 'I Want My Best Friend to be Able to Have a Husband.' It was particularly hard to see couples that had to wear masks, knowing that their relationships had to also be obscured in their day-to-day lives. Despite all that, the parade was an incredibly joyous occasion, with a friendly feel, with people expressing their desire to be able to openly live and celebrate love. "
