As the new year begins, cultures around the world celebrate in their own way. In the south, they eat black-eyed peas and greens for good luck. In New York, Kathy Griffin makes Anderson Cooper uncomfortable on live television. In Provincetown, hairy men jump into freezing cold water.
The second annual Polar Bear Plunge commenced this weekend as part of the Provincetown First Light celebrations for New Year's weekend. A large group ran into Provincetown Harbor at high tide to celebrate 2017. After, they enjoyed cocktails, hot drinks, and chili at Harbor Lounge before hitting the dance floor to warm up. The event helped raise money for the AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod.
