The trans icon shakes it with a cast of queer artists in the designer's latest fashion film
For his spring 2016 collection, designer Viktor Luna (of Project Runway fame) has teamed up with Out contributor Sophy Holland (who lensed our latest Tastemakers portfolio) to craft a fun fashion film. Luna recruited transgender icon Laverne Cox and a cast of queer artists to showcase his designs -- and dance it out!
Among the talent featured, you might recognize Cox's co-star Jackie Cruz (a.k.a. Flaca on Orange is the New Black), dancer-choreographer Jonte' Moaning, and belly dancer Samantha Diaz, alongside models and entertainers Trevor Shapiro, Leo Pelligrino, and Ashley Kolodner.
The collection takes its inspiration from the ancient Sumerians civilization, but includes a futuristic, urban edge with metallics and high-gloss finishes to channel a 1970s disco vibe. Each piece in the collection was handmade at Viktor Luna's atelier, in New York City.
