The art of the double-breasted tuxedo
This week we go back to the basics with the help of Mr. Perfect, a.k.a. Jake Gyllenhaal. The actor attended amfAR's 22nd Cinema Against AIDS Gala in the south of France, looking supremely elegant in a tuxedo. It may seem simple, but doing "black tie" right takes practice, and Gyllenhaal knows well that when in doubt, one should stick to the classics. Though the dinner suit has been through many variations over the years, the peak-lapelled double-breasted tux, favored in the 1930s and 1940s, and famously worn by the likes of Roger Moore and Tom Ford, is still arguably the best go-to for formal wear. Ain't that right, Jakie?
