The ellusive designer and YSL can't seem to agree on a new contract, and a replacement is already being touted, reports say.
Hedi Slimane's second tenure at Saint Laurent might be shorter than we anticipated. According to WWD, loose tongues have been spreading rumors that Slimane and Kering, Saint Laurent's parent company, haven't been able to agree on a new contract to continue their collaboration.
"The designer has so far failed to reach an agreement [...] and is preparing to part ways with a brand he revved up with his rock 'n' roll-inspired fashions and a top-to-bottom reform of the storied house," WWD reports.
According to sources, a new creative director is already up for consideration: Anthony Vaccarello, a Belgian designer known for his sexy, rock-inspired designs, both under his eponymous label and Versace's sister brand, Versus.
If the reports are true, Slimane's new collection, announced to presented in two parts in L.A. and Paris at the next Fashion Week, might be his last for the French brand. The designer left the house for Dior Homme in 2001, and came back in 2013 to revamp it from scratch.
