It’s no secret that Wilton Manors knows how to throw a party. But come this spring, the city isn’t just hosting another festival — it’s holding space, specifically for queer women, non-binary folks, as well as for art, healing, and community.
From April 26 to May 4, 2025, South Florida’s queer capital will host the very first Wilton Women’s Week (WWW) — a vibrant, week-long celebration designed to uplift LGBTQ+ women and non-binary people. Think: community morning events, night dance parties, brunch with queer icon Rita Mae Brown, local flavors, deep belly laughs, and overdue hugs. It’s not just a moment. It’s a movement.
Organized by The Pride Center at Equality Park and Women With Pride, WWW is more than a lineup of events. It’s a heartfelt response to a community that’s too often underrepresented — even in LGBTQ+ spaces.
“The tag line for Wilton Women’s Week is ‘celebrating women and building community’ and this intention has never been more necessary than it is today.” said organizer Diane Pappafotis, whose passion for the project was contagious.
Expect local theater powered by LGBTQ+ talent (shoutout to the Lesbian Thespians), exhibitions at the Stonewall National Museum & Archive, holistic health sessions, and playful afternoons with the Rainbow Sports League. There’s even spiritual wellness programming for those who need a pause and a breath.
“The widespread community participation is a true indicator of our community’s desire for a unifying event like WWW,” said volunteer Lali Safavi. “We are proud to be a small part of such a significant event.”
