Set to the gay disco classic "I'm Coming Out" by Diana Ross, the star of the 2007 movie Hairspray Nikki Blonsky took to TikTok to come out as gay yesterday.
"Hi, it's Nikki Blonsky from the movie," Bronsky wrote on TikTok. "I'm Gay! #pride #imcomingout #hairspray"
She later took to Twitter to announce "I'm coming out! #pride"

As Ross belted out "I'm coming out, I want the world to know, I got to let it show," Blonsky showed off the dance moves that wowed fans with her portrayal of Tracy Turnblad in the 2007 film Hairspray. The film featured an ensemble cast including Queen Latifah, Zac Efron, Amanda Bynes, John Travolta, and Christopher Walker among others.
The movie was based on the 2002 Broadway musical of the same name, which, in turn, was based on the 1988 John Waters classic film starring Rikki Lake and the late Divine.
Blonsky also starred in the short-lived television comedy Huge, and now currently hosts Nikki Nights, a nightly Instragram Live show where she recently interviewed Rikki Lake, who portrayed the original Tracy Turnblad in the 1988 film.
