If you think Lee Pace exudes Big Daddy Energy, then you are absolutely, 100 percent correct!
During a recent appearance on James Corden's late-night talk show alongside Dickinson and Hawkeye star Hailee Steinfeld, the 42-year-old actor even proved his Daddyness when he confirmed to the British host that he did, in fact, build his own house.
"What I built is a timber frame," Pace told Corden casually about his hand-built Maine residence (as if that's just something everyone everywhere just knows how to do on the daily). "Designed it myself, carved all the pieces, and I got a bunch of my friends together right before Thanksgiving one year and we pegged it together and pushed it up."
"It kind of sat out in the field because I was working for the next two years," he continued. "But then I'd make some money and put a roof on it, then make a little bit more money then put some walls on and a door and a window, and then I kind of lived out there for a while, but with no power or water. It was actually really nice. Quiet."
"You just built the whole thing?!" Corden asked, echoing our surprised sentiments exactly. "I think it's a thing a lot of people imagine that they would love to do, but nobody actually does it."
"I'm really interested in people who do it," Pace then replies. "That's what started me on the mission. I'm really interested in guys who are just like, 'I wanna figure out how to do this stuff. I wanna know what puts the roof over my head.'"
And suddenly, just like that, I'm super into homebuilding and construction now...
Elsewhere in the interview, Pace, who is currently starring in Apple TV+'s hit sci-fi series Foundation, talked even more about his literal Daddyness when Corden asked him what he thought of being the internet's favorite "Intergalactic Emperor Daddy" (a phrased we coined here at Out earlier this year) because of his role on the show.
"How do you feel when you hear that?" Corden asks Pace.
"I could get used to that, yeah, that's nice," Pace replied, laughing and leaning back in his seat. "I don't know what that means, actually. What is an emperor galactic daddy?"
"I think it could be the name of your construction company for building houses," Corden counters. "Home built by the 'Intergalactic Emperor Daddy.' People would go for it."
Yes, we would, James. Yes. We. Would.
