In a stunning act of selfless denial, beloved Will & Grace actor and meme king Leslie Jordan announced via Instagram that he will cease all further attempts to marry hunky TV star and New Girl alum Max Greenfield.
In a recent Insta post, Jordan revealed that he had jokingly proposed marriage to Greenfield over dinner, only to be turned down by his straight and happily married friend.
"I don't want to be a home-wrecker," a spurned Jordan wrote of his decision.
The 66-year-old funnyman tagged Greenfield's wife, casting director Tess Sanchez, in the post. The Greenfields were married in 2008 and have two children together. The talented and family-oriented Max is known for his roles in New Girl, Veronica Mars, The Neighborhood, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, and more.
Jordan rose to fame with his performances on Will & Grace, American Horror Story, Heart's Afire, and is also an accomplished stage actor and writer. More recently, he helped a nation ride out the pandemic as the "King of Quarantine" with his popular, viral clips and videos posted to his Instagram account.
Earlier this year Jordan came to the aid of Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry after the pair came under fire for their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey where they described their former lives as members of the British royal family.
"Woohoo, shit's getting real," Jordan said in an Instagram video, declaring all the gays have Markle's back. "She needs to speak her truth, that's wonderful. I'm just afraid those Royals are gonna smoke her."
He's also set to star in an upcoming Ryan Murphy series with his fellow AHS alum Dylan McDermott in what fans are hoping is some kind of romantic story.
"So yes it's TRUE I am writing a project for national treasures Leslie Jordan and Dylan McDermott to star in together," Murphy said when he announced the news earlier this year. "Should it be a romance? A buddy comedy? A heist movie? All I know is Leslie is going to be fabulously wealthy in it, and Dylan will have a backstory as a former masseur."
