If he's going to be serving up his trademark humor, we are all in!
After amusing all of us during quarantine with his clips and reactions posted to Instagram, actor Leslie Jordan has a new television show on the way. The star is known to many from his work on Will & Grace but has appeared on American Horror Story. Currently, he is working on another Ryan Murphy project where he will be "fabulously wealthy" and Dylan McDermott will have a "backstory as a masseur." Now, he's set to host a competition show.
Announced by Variety, the Emmy-winning performer will host Squeaky Clean, a cleaning competition series. The show will have three "cleaning-obsessed contestants" going head to head in two rounds for the "shiniest floor in studio competition history." Sabriel Soto will be the resident cleaning and organization expert and each episode will feature a celebrity judge.
What we are hoping holds the show together is Jordan's humor. He's gone viral multiple times oveer the last few months for his updates and to wit, he posted a video to Instagram announcing the show.
"Move over Vanna White," he says standing in front of the Squeaky Queen sign. "It's a competitive cleaning show on Quibi. It's going to be a lot of fun. It's an app. Called Quibi."
If you think this is a bit of a niche competition, you're probably right! It's a series from Quibi, the bite-sized network that specializes in niche television. They've commissioned shows like one from Lena Waithe about her sneaker collection. Willam also got a show about fashion while Sasha Velour was able to bring her NightGowns drag revue to screen. That latter series was renewed for a second season.
In a statement, Velour promised a "more global" version for season two with a star-studded cast of international drag talent. Season one of the show is still available on the streamer.
